Growing Our Future Leaders: An Experience on ROC Group’s Aspiring Leaders Course

At ROC Group, we believe in recognising potential, supporting development and giving our people opportunities to progress.

One of our team members, who has been with ROC Group for just over a year, recently took the next step in their career after being promoted to Acting Senior. As part of their development in the new role, they enrolled on our Aspiring Leaders course.

Here, they share their experience of the course and the impact it has had on their confidence, development and aspirations for the future.

Stepping into leadership

"I currently work at one of the ROC Group homes and have been with the company for just over a year. I was recently promoted to Acting Senior and enrolled on the Aspiring Leaders course to support my development in this new role."

The Aspiring Leaders course was delivered across six in-person sessions by ROC Group CEO, Anita. Throughout the programme, participants explored a range of leadership topics designed to build their knowledge, confidence and ability to lead and support their teams.

For our Acting Senior, the experience has already made a significant difference.

"I learned a lot throughout the course and feel it has significantly developed both my professional skills and my personal aspirations."

Learning from real experience

A key part of the programme was being able to connect leadership theory with the realities of working within ROC Group.

"Anita brought a wealth of knowledge to each session and shared real-life examples that made the course engaging and relevant. She delivered every session with genuine passion and enthusiasm, which inspired me to want to become the best leader I can be for both myself and my team."

Each session provided an opportunity to learn, reflect and think about how those lessons could be applied back in the workplace.

"After each session, I left feeling more confident and wanting to put the knowledge into practice."

Investing in our people

Developing our people from within is incredibly important to us. The Aspiring Leaders programme also brings together colleagues who share that ambition, giving them an opportunity to learn from and alongside one another.
