A Heartfelt Thank You: Feedback That Means the World

At ROC Group, our mission has always been to provide safety, stability, and support for every young person who comes into our care. Recently, we received a piece of feedback that truly moved our whole team, a message that perfectly reflects why we are so committed to the work we do.

We were sent the following words from a professional who has supported L throughout her journey:

“I wanted to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for the exceptional support you’ve, at ROC SOLID, given to L while she stayed (and overstayed) with you. Your willingness to go above and beyond for a young person to feel securely housed well past her turning 18yrs old, has surely been a profound positive step in her trust in others, going into young adulthood.”

Supporting L beyond her 18th birthday was never a question for us, ensuring she felt safe during her transition into adulthood was the priority. We were humbled to read:

“You and the team have made that difference in her life and her journey, especially as a Care Leaver. The exceptions you made for her to continue to stay until a new safe room was found – and you accepted LHA rate when she turned 18 – was an act of generosity.”

The feedback went on to describe the environment our team strives to create every day:

“Your team and home have created a nurturing and empowering environment where L felt safe, valued, and encouraged to thrive, despite the many incidents you had to deal with, alongside. This is also more appreciated by us as you are out of county, far away from us.”

It’s hard to put into words how much it means to hear that our care has had such a positive impact. Perhaps the most touching line of all was this:

“It’s placements like yours that live up to the spirit of what we strive for in our accommodation for young people.”

We are incredibly grateful for these kind words and for the trust placed in us to support L during such an important period in her life. And to L, we hope her next placement gives her the same sense of safety and encouragement she found here.

“Happy to have worked alongside such dedicated professionals. Thank you for being such a positive presence in L’s life.”
