The Role

We are a CQC Outstanding children’s Disability service commissioned by both Durham and Stockton Council. We work with children with Disabilities, and additional needs, such as autism.

We offer families respite support for children and young adults up to 25 years of age.

Our service offers:-

· Personal care

· Community Outreach

· Independent living skills

· Centre-based groups (across 4 family hubs in stockton and chester le street family hub)

Job Hours

Based on the need sof the child but can be

· From 3pm on weekdays during term time for children

· Weekends, anytime between 9 and 6

· School holidays, anytime between 9 and 6

· For those over 16 support may be needed from 9 until 3 weekdays

As the role is sessional the working hours and time slots can be flexible

Essential Requirements:

Experience and knowledge of working with children with disabilities (preferred but will accept candidates with life experience)

Being able to safeguard our children and young people.

Being able to carry out personal care duties offering our children and young people dignity and respect throughout the session.

Experience of working with children. (preferrable)

Level 3 award in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)

Openness and commitment to personal development identified training and professional development.
