So how do you get important messages over to a frightened 12-year-old in residential care for the time ever? Through Brownie, her favourite teddy, of course!
Allison, Hunthorn senior residential worker, has enisted Brownie’s help to get over some key messages to the newlyplaced child. She will have conversations with teddy within the little girl’s hearing or gets teddy to “talk” to her directly in a character voice.
Her approach is obviously paying off. The little girl has announced she wants to stay at Hunthorn until she is 52!
